Privacy Policy

When you photograph an object to smash, Crackie removes its background entirely on your device using Apple Vision (iOS) or Google ML Kit (Android). The original photo is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared — it stays on your device and is discarded once the cut-out is made.

Crackie keeps a collection of the cut-out images (backgrounds already removed) of the things you've smashed. By default this lives only on your device. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple to back up your collection, those cut-out images are uploaded to our private storage (Cloudflare R2) so they survive a reinstall or a new phone. Every file is tied to your account and readable only by you — the storage is never public, and cut-outs are never shared or sold. Stay signed out and nothing is uploaded. Deleting an object, or your whole account (Settings → delete), erases the backed-up images from our storage.

We don't collect personal information ourselves. A few well-known services process limited data on our behalf:

• Google AdMobShows banner and rewarded ads. It may use a device advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. In the EEA/UK we ask for your consent first (GDPR); on iOS we ask via App Tracking Transparency. You can decline and still use the app.
• Google Analytics for FirebaseMeasures anonymous, aggregated usage (sessions, retention, which features are used) so we can improve Crackie. It is off by default and only runs for users who consent or who aren't shown a consent prompt; in the EEA/UK and on iOS, if you decline, it stays off.
• Firebase Authentication & Cloud FirestoreOptional cloud backup. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we back up your game progress (Crumbs balance, owned effects, and streak) and the metadata of your object collection so it survives a reinstall or a new phone. The cut-out images themselves are stored in Cloudflare R2 (below). We never back up your original photos or contacts. If you stay signed out, nothing is backed up.
• Cloudflare R2 & WorkersWhen you enable cloud backup by signing in, the cut-out images in your object collection are stored in Cloudflare R2. Access runs through our own gateway that verifies your sign-in and scopes every file to your account, so the storage stays private — never public, never shared, never sold. Deleting an object or your account removes its images from R2.
• RevenueCat + Apple / GoogleProcess optional in-app purchases (the “Golden” unlock and Crumbs packs) and validate receipts. We never see your payment details.
• Kakao (Korea only)If you use the optional “share” feature in Korea, the Kakao SDK handles sending your message. It is only invoked when you tap share.

Daily smash counts, Crumbs, which effects you own, your selected effect, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device.

Crackie is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed at children. We use non-child-directed ad settings.

You can manage ad and analytics consent any time in the app's Settings (Privacy options), sign out to stop cloud backup, and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.
